Steve is in Orlando
In case you haven't heard, Steve S. is now living in Orlando, Florida and working at Walt Disney World. This has been since October 19, 2004, and will continue for at least a year. He will decide at that time whether the experiment is completed, or needs to be extended.

Steve will visit Rochester and Carol as often as he can. On alternate months, Carol may come down to Florida to visit Steve.

Steve & Carol
Steve and Carol are still a going concern. Steve is doing this with Carol's permission, and actually with her encouragement. It's either this or go crazy. It is hoped that we can be together again at either the northern or southern location very soon, but I very much want Carol to stay at Zumbro.

In the meantime Carol will have to be kept company with our springer spaniel, Gus. Ah, but can Gus shovel the driveway?

The answering machine will answer -- even if I'm there
It's incredible. When I had the phone installed, 30 minutes later I got my first call! It was from a godless telemarketer. I think he was selling telephone serivce. Since then most all of the phone calls I've gotten have been from salespeople.

So I have mostly given up answering the phone live. It's hard to even hang up in a civil way when the guy launches into Spanish without even a hello. The only words I can understand in there are the occasional "....Jorge Boosh...."

So when calling Steve, please let the phone ring until the answering machine picks up. This could be as many as 5 rings. At the answering machine tone, please go ahead and start to leave your message. If I'm there and I recognize your voice, I will pick up. Otherwise go ahead and leave your full message. I will get back to you.

I work all these odd hours at Disney and you're more likely to get the machine than me when you do call anyway. Rowlf can't answer the phone. (I HAVE tried to teach him -- stupid dog)
