NFFC World Chapter -- Meeting Report -- Dec 11, 2004 Hi All! If you were able to attend, then you know what a great time everyone had. If for some reason you were unable to attend, here are some of the highlights of what you missed: Lucy Murgalo was presented with THREE Disney Artists' pencil sketches for all her hard work over the years on behalf of the chapter. Alex Maher gave her a Tinkerbell sketch; Brian Blackmore gave her a Sorcerer Mickey and from Don "Ducky" Williams was a sketch of the Old Hag from Snow White. She was in tears as these are her three favorite Disney characters. We then watched a short video on the World Re-Premiere of Mary Poppins with interviews with Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke, Karen Dotrice and Glynda John. Next Jim Hill from www.jimhillmedia.com stopped by (he's been an old chapter member for years from the years when he used to live in Florida) and answered questions from our member and guestsabout the life and death of 2D animation. And then it came time for our main "Be Our Guest" speaker, Michael Noles; Concept Designer from Disney Entertainment. Michael talked about some projects that never made it off the drawing boards and even showed us storyboards for some of the "Snowglobe" floats that he designed for the 25th Anniverary Magic Kingdom Parade that were never built or were built differently from what he originally designed. Then he took questions from the audience. Afterwards we took a short break for refeshments and birthday cake. Once we resumed the meeting, we played a fast paced game called "Name that Disney Tune" with five people from our audience. They listend to a 2 second clip of Disney music (put together by our sound wizard, Bob Frazier) and were asked to name it. If no one could get it, they were given a second chance with a 5 second clip of the same music If still no one got it, then they listened to the entire song till some one came up with it. It was very funny as they really struggled with "Part of Our World" from The Little Mermaid. Prizes were given to all the contestants. We then had our 50-50 Raffle, our five very special Raffles and then our "LIVE" and very funny Disney Auction with myself as the auctioneer!!! It's safe to say everyone had a wondeful time! I'll of course keep you posted in the near future as to the date and time and place of next meeting so if you can make it, your more than welcome to attend for all the Disney fun and games. If you are going to be in Walt Disney World Area around February 2005, why not stop by at the World Chapter's Meeting. It will be a night to remember with many special speakers and guests.
